Abstract
This article explores the complex correlation between the administration of India’s criminal justice system and the rights of female prisoners. The issue of the rights of incarcerated women arises as a vital element that symbolises the nation’s dedication to fairness and parity within a system characterised by its intricacy. This study examines the challenges and achievements associated with safeguarding the rights of imprisoned women from the perspective of the criminal justice system, encompassing several stages such as investigation, trial, and sentencing. By analysing this interaction, the article aims to emphasise the endeavours undertaken to ensure that justice is accessible and equitable for all individuals, particularly those who are most marginalised and overlooked. This study additionally analyses the existing legislation and legal safeguards, explores the specific requirements of incarcerated women, and identifies potential areas of enhancement in the endeavour to establish a fairer and more empathetic criminal justice system.
